This is a good rendering of the poetry challenge, Carole. However, I am with you. I love oak and if we just wait it out it's like everything else in society --the love for oak will recycle and come back around. There's nothing like oak!
An excellent one to one of my favorite woods, both for furnishings and fuel. I have to say though that I put a bamboo floor in my old house and it is excellent. Harder to work with than oak according to the installers, but a beautiful finish and very tough.
Love Oak I’m an old Okie From Muskogee too. Someone talked me into getting a bamboo floor a couple houses ago. What a waste of money. Nothing like solid oak or maple.
So, oak is a great wood. I have formica counters. Granted, they are hi-res stone look. I would have loved having the real thing like granite or soapstone added so much $$. We are practical!
I love oak furniture. Beautiful!
Oh, I do, too. It holds up well.
