It doesn’t seem quite fair to have one day in May to celebrate our motherhood— we’re mothers every day! But whether all our kids are close or far away, those memories of mothering will with us firmly stay! Birth stories, good and bad, our children’s quirks and flaws, their injuries and sicknesses, the pictures they would draw, their fantasies and fears, the places that they saw, their talents and accomplishments, they leave us still in awe. Moms' jobs are difficult, but we took up the task! We raised you children, didn’t we? You didn’t have to ask! Now, send us to a spa: massage, cucumber mask, where we are finally pampered and in luxury we bask!
Have a Happy Mother’s Day, all you moms! I’ll be working, so I’m posting early.
She DOES look happy. I strolled out the the Sunday market here, 45 seconds from our door and bought a "sacristain", a very yummy treat for Laurie that is a cross between a croissant, baclava and a mille feuille. We nibbled on it and thought back to 35 years ago when we found out she was pregnant, the wonderful beginning of it all.
Cheers to all the wonderful mothers of the world!
