Haunted
National Poetry Writing Month prompt for April 10th: There's a ghost in my ______.
There’s a ghost in my house, and he’s been here a while. I conclude it’s my spouse trying to get me to smile. When the radio goes on and the static begins. I remember he’s gone, but he gets me to grin. Random clicks in the wall next to my kitchen sink are a courtesy call from my ghost friend, I think! There’s a knock in the floor somewhere under my bed. It's that ghost, nothing more! No, it's not in my head! Ten o’clock, every day there ‘s a beeping alarm. “Just the ghost,” I will say, since it does me no harm. Every once in a while, keys will just disappear. When they're back, I will smile, thank the ghost, never fear! Whether haunted, or not, in this house, things get weird, but no reasons I’ve sought. I just say, “Hello, dear!”

The beeping alarm at ten o'clock every day is the best detail . Reminds me of loss and recovery.
The light rhyme seems to carry a bit more than light humor. Maybe a wee bit of loneliness? <3
